Pocture below shows string sign

After the string sign, there was something like a mushroom. It was called as mushroom sign = kirklin sign.
Always remember hypocloremic, hypokalemic metabolic alkalosis!

Necrotizing enterocolitis~

• Picture shown pneumatosis intestinalis in necrotizing enterocolitis.
• Symptoms: Related to introduction of feeds, bloody stool, lethargic.
• Treatment: Resect necrotic bowel

Hirschprung~

• Fail to pass meconium in the first 24-48 h of life.
• Also known as congenital aganglionic megacolon.
• Barium enema: dilated megacolon
• Gold standard: Biopsy (absence of ganglion cell)
• Treatment: Surgical

Duodenal Atresia~

• This is 'double bubble' sign in duodenal atresia.
• Patient came with bilious vomiting with every feed.
• Associated with Down Syndrome (Trisomy 21).
